Thank you so very much for the use of your home in Quilcene this past weekend! What an absolutely beautiful home and setting!

Our weekend at your home was so fun and relaxing and sprinkled with a little bit of adventure. The Christmas decorations were a wonderful touch. And did you order the snow? That was a great surprise; we were all acting like a bunch of little kids.

We met the raccoons... so cute! I couldn't help myself... I fed 'em. I know I shouldn't have but those little faces... I'm such a sucker! We also heard a lot of splashing and grunting/growling down near the waters edge. That kept us inside after dark for sure.

We did use the hot tub (and refilled the tub as a couple of us make for a large amount of water displacement, if you know what I mean!) which was fantastic.

The snow made getting up the driveway a little challenging but we made it on the third attempt. We drove into Port Townsend on Saturday afternoon and came back around 5:30pm. We started playing cards and then the power went out. It was pitch-black! We were all laughing so hard trying to find the flashlight that I had packed (who knows WHY I packed a flashlight...but good thing). We found and used your tea lights. The pwer came back on at 1 or 2 am. Sorry if the decorations were askew in the house, we were appropriating all the candles we could find.

Great woodstove; kept us cozy. And the barbecue, we used that too. We had brought a Papa Murphy's pizza home from Port Townsend to cook at the house but without the power, we needed to find an alternative... the BBQ! Man, was that good. You should try it.

We had a little bird get in the house on Sunday morning. I think it came up through a knot-hole in the dining room floor. We got him back out fairly quickly, poor little thing.

We saw seals and bald eagles (I loved the bears in the trees!). Who put in all those steps to the water??? What an immense undertaking that was, but highly appreciated.

We had such a good time. Your home is truly lovely. We will want to return soon and often. We were all talking on Saturday during the power-outage about how we want to do the weekend get-away again soon and we all wanted to come back to your place.
